Goodine has found literary correspondence and inspiration throughout her career, where the lush imagistic languages of the Magic Realists informed her Eden-like Southern tableaux photographs. She is an artist trained in photography, modern dance, film, and installation art. Her soundscapes and video installations were created on location in Indiana, Mexico, and India. They are a sui generis synthesis of both past and present. As an imagist who has worked on expressions of the psyche, Goodine renders for the audience both a subjective and emotional narrative, exploring cultural identity in relationship to place.
